University Services Center, Rm. 213
As the Director of Advancement Services, I work as part of an integrated management team to establish overall goals and strategies for increasing private support to the University. This entails managing the University Advancement Services office staff and provides professional support to the University and Foundation in implementing financial processes, reporting, prospect management, donor recognition, donor stewardship and other related activities, including development and foundation research, database management, donor history and financial reports.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2000 and a Master's degree in Occupational Training and Development in 2006, both from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I started working in Institutional Advancement in 1998 as a student "Island Caller", raising money for the University. Eventually, I worked my way up to a student supervisor position and moved from Development to Advancement Services after graduating in 2000. Since then, I've worked every aspect of the Advancement Services department; Database Assistant, Gift Processor, Advancement Services Coordinator, and now Director. I became the Director of Advancement Services in 2007 and continue to enjoy the evolvement of the position.
When I'm not working at the University, I love to spend time with my husband and young son. Being a first time mom can be stressful, but it can also be enjoyable! My husband and I also spend a great amount of time and money renovating our home. We're not sure when we'll be done, but we hope it's before we both retire! My newest hobby is couponing. I love purchasing products for a lot less or sometimes getting products for free because of coupons. It's great when trying to lower the expenses of raising a family - every little bit helps!
